    Band Camp Fundraiser Information

    We will be taking interested Bethel band students to band camp this summer at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia. Sixth grade students will attend the Junior High session I camp (June 18-22) and the 7th and 8th grade students will attend the Junior High session II camp (June 25-29). Cost for the camp last summer was $300 – this covers students’ rooms, all meals, all instruction and activities. There is a possibility the camp will be a few dollars more expensive this summer, but that information has not been put out yet. Mrs. Gordey will be attending the first camp with the beginning students and Mr. Gordey will be attending the second camp with the 7th and 8th grade students. One of the Bethel directors will be on campus with our students at all times. If enough students sign up to go to camp, then we will also take a bus. Parents have to pick students up from HSU at the end of the camp – but you will want to so you can attend the concerts, they are always wonderful!

    Beginning Monday, November 19th and continuing through December 3rd, the Bethel Band parents will be sponsoring a Christmas Ornament sale to help students raise money for camp.

    The ornaments are personalized, with five designs available. Ornaments sell for $10.00 each. Ornaments must be paid for when they are ordered – money will be turned in to Mrs. Gordey – and the ornaments will be sent directly to the purchaser. Once they are ordered your part is done! Student’s band camp “account” will be credited with $4.00 for each ornament sold. All money will be put into the Bethel Band’s activity account and money that each child raises will be sent directly to the HSU band camp. No refunds of the money raised will be given to individual students or parents. If a child doesn’t go to camp, the money will remain the activity account to be used for the Bethel Bands.

    There is no obligation to participate in this fundraiser – it is strictly being made available to try to help as many students go to band camp this summer as possible. It is a great learning experience and just lots of fun! The more students from Bethel who go, the more fun it is.
