Step Up Instruments
As your child becomes proficient on their instrument, it will become necessary to purchase an intermediate level instrument for them. This will usually be in their 3rd or 4th year of playing.
Reputable music stores will allow you to “step-up” from the beginning model instrument and use it as a trade-in on the intermediate level instrument. They will usually give you a very good allowance on the beginning instrument, especially if it was purchased from their store originally. The music store can give you information on how they deal with this process.
